What is the Bankgiro system?
The Bankgiro system is an open payment system with free access to become a participant as long as each one meets the requirements of the law and Bankgirot. The system is accessible for both payers and creditors. The information always arrive on time, regardless of which banks participate at each end.
The rules for participants are neutral and are applied in the same way for everyone within the payment system. The requirements for the participants are also in line with the law on payment services, which means they are non-discriminatory and proportionate. Bankgirot provides for the security requirements that are associated with the business and has appropriate rules on how lines of business are to be conducted.
