4/24/2012 Bankgirocentralen BGC AB is changing its brand name from BGC to Bankgirot. This means that Bankgirot is the branding used in all communication from the company.
The company has used the BGC brand since the 1990s while Bankgirot has thus far represented only a limited share of the offering.
The switch to Bankgirot as the brand for all offerings was implemented mainly to streamline communication.
Bankgirot is stronger and better known than BGC and using Bankgirot as the sole brand gives us a better starting point from which to run the operation. This decision means the simplification and streamlining of all communication and will lead to reduced costs," says CEO Birgitta Simonsson.
Bankgirocentralen BGC AB remains the company's legal name.
